Having an online business can seem like an easy way to make money, but that’s not always the case. It’s a way to get your name out there, and you can rank highly if you use good keywords. Your blog should be interesting, and it should be updated regularly so that there aren’t any worries about it falling out of favor with the search engines. The more easily you and your blog are found by potential customers, the better, of course, so you’ll want to say things that will appeal to them. Be careful to keep your blog on topic, and don’t alienate anyone by posting hateful or inflammatory comments. Anyone can read them, so be careful what you say.
As long as you keep up with your blog and work toward building it into something that shows your expertise, you can get people interested in what you have to offer. If they bookmark you and keep coming back, so much the better. That means they like what you have to say, and they may also tell others about you, as well. That’s all free advertising. Yes, it takes some time, but not that much. You can update your blog on your lunch hour, or while watching TV in the evening, so it’s not actually taking time out of your working hours.
